The Horror
Friday, June 12, 2009
I didn’t flinch when the alien popped out of the guy’s chest in the movie Alien. I watched, wide-eyed, as Linda Blair’s day-glow green head spun around spewing vomit in The Exorcist. All I’m saying here is that am pretty tough when it comes to watching shocking images. Some will say, those are not shocking images. It’s Hollywood fantasy. That, I will concede.Donald Douglas put up a video for an article entitled, “Travel Tips for the Uighurs!” It carries with it a stern warning about its violent content. Even that is NOT sufficient. I had to pause the video player. I could watch it no more. I began crying uncontrollably. The horror! The horror!
As of today, the Religion of Peace has carried out 13,363 acts of terrorism since September 11, 2001.
House Democrats are trying to kill an amendment to a war spending bill that would prohibit the release of the so-called "torture" photos. The American Civil Liberties Union has filed a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit seeking release of the pictures.
Though House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that "no final decision" has been made on the language, a Democratic source said Pelosi is dropping the amendment to coax anti-war Democrats into voting for the $100 billion supplemental spending for the war in Afghanistan and operations in Iraq.
If that happens, the amendment authors, Sens. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) are threatening a filibuster on the Senate side, which had unanimously approved the amendment when it sent the bill back to the House.
To avert a showdown, Graham, Lieberman and Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) are urging President Obama to sign an executive order to classify the photos—in effect bypassing Congress to get the job done.
In April of last year, I posted Geert Wilders’ movie Fitna. The controversy over Fitna, like all such controversies, renders one fact about our world especially salient: Muslims appear to be far more concerned about perceived slights to their religion than about the atrocities committed daily in its name. Our accommodation of this psychopathic skewing of priorities has, more and more, taken the form of craven and blinkered acquiescence.
Islam is a religion of peace, and if you say that it isn't, we peaceful Muslims cannot be held responsible for what our less peaceful brothers and sisters do. When they burn your embassies or kidnap and slaughter your journalists, know that we will hold you primarily responsible and will spend the bulk of our energies criticizing you for "racism" and "Islamophobia."
While it remains taboo to criticize religious faith in general, it is considered especially unwise to criticize Islam. Only Muslims hound and hunt and murder their apostates, infidels, and critics in the 21st century. There are, to be sure, reasons why this is so. Some of these reasons have to do with accidents of history and geopolitics, but others can be directly traced to doctrines sanctifying violence which are unique to Islam.
The credo of the Muslim Brotherhood actually happens to be "Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. The Qur'an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope."
“To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist."—from President Obama’s Inaugural Speech
The connection between the doctrine of Islam and Islamist violence is simply not open to dispute. Islamists themselves acknowledge and demonstrate this connection at every opportunity and to deny it is to retreat within a fantasy world of political correctness and religious apology. We need more criticism of Islam, not less. Let it come down in such torrents that not even the most deluded Islamist could conceive of containing it.
If you choose to view the embedded video, I strongly caution you to be prepared to witness incomprehensible acts of brutality and terrorism.

I watched this at American Power. I can hear the audio here but cannot see the pic. I use Firefox. Maybe that's the problem.
I watched another video yesterday at Chicago Ray's via Pamela. It wasn't as bad as this one, but I nearly lost my dinner after the first scene.
You know, we just must steel ourselves against this. This is reality. They even take pleasure in filming themselves.
Maggie,
There was a problem with the embedding of the video which I have corrected.
Please across America need to watch these videos. The truth about these barbarians would open their eyes.
The pantywaists in our government are trying to sissify the global war on terror.
This must not be allowed to stand.
"I had to pause the video player. I could watch it no more. I began crying uncontrollably"
